5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Scooter-Very well Built !!!, December 27, 2011
This review is from: Currie Technologies eZip E450 Electric Scooter (Red) (Sports)
This scooter was impossible to find at any of the local stores. Thanks to Amazon for having them in stock. I ordered on the 23rd and received on the 27th due to me ordering them 1hr. past the deadline for a Friday (Dec. 23rd) delivery. Anyway, Upon receipt of the scooters (2 purchased), unboxing revealed that both tail lights were broken in shipping. From looking at how they were packaged, you can see why. The scooters themselves were actually heavy and sturdy. This IS NOT A TOY scooter. This thing feels sturdier than some cars I've seen. Assembly took 1 hr. for both scooter and was very simple. I can't stress enough how well built and designed these things are. The kick stand is literally a 1/4" piece of steel attached with a very sturdy spring and has no issues holding the scooter in place with authority. The wheels and tires came pre-inflated and are of high quality rubber. The On/Off switch is a toggle switch and is placed on the lower section of the steering column above the... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars First impressions, September 14, 2011

Box came a little roughed up. Scooter was packaged well, but on further inspection it appears there are slight dents on the sides of the scooter under the battery cover. However, when the cover is put back it is unnoticeable so no big deal. I didn't charge the scooter for the initial 6 to 8 hours because I was too excited haha. It runs very well! I weigh about 155 pounds and it tackles hills no problem. It will probably run even better on a full charge! I am 5'10" and the handlebars are too short to ride comfortably standing up. Sitting down is fine. It starts from a dead stop.

One trouble I encountered putting it together was that the battery connector was in the way so you couldn't close the battery cover. You have to put the connector underneath the battery so that it fits in the grooves on the bottom and lay the battery on top. (You'll understand when you see it)

Will update review if anything drastically changes.

Pros:

I've had mine for a few weeks and have found it to be a lot of fun to ride. I'm 5'10" and weight 185 pounds and this scooter holds me fine. I use the seat which makes it much easier to ride. My scooter came with no dents or packaging problems as some others have complained about. It's about 90% assembled. Just install the seat post first, then the folding stem post, and lastly the handlebars. One tip is to make sure the hinge on the folding stem post faces the seat and that the quick release locking lever faces foward. The battery seems to hold it's charge even though it's stored in my rather cold garage. Since it has no shock absorbers or seat springs, it operates best on smooth asphalt streets. I like it!

1.0 out of 5 stars The need for a REPLACEMENT battery charger says it all, October 27, 2007

This review is from: Razor Battery Charger for the e200, e300, PR200, Pocket Mod, Sports Mod, and Dirt Quad (Sports)
You're looking at this battery recharger as a REPLACEMENT because the original began to arc at the connector-end to the Razor bike. As a replacement, it's acceptable since there are no alternatives. You'll avoid another replacement, however, IF YOU GRIP THE CONNECTOR ITSELF TO DISCONNECT from the Razor bike AND AVOID GRIPPING AND PULLING THE CORD.

The UL Subject 2238-type connector uses a CAST-METAL enclosure to give a FALSE IMPRESSION of ruggedness. Nonetheless, the connector's cord grip (strain-relief clamps) cannot accommodate the small cord size selected by the recharger's designer.

The battery recharger's designer selected a 3-contact connector intended for a LARGER-DIAMETER 3-conductor cord instead of the 2-conductor cord actually used. (The third contact is unused. In cast-metal connectors, none could be found in a 2-contact connector as a component. The battery recharger designer should have looked to either a custom-built connector suitable for the... Debated weather to buy this for my 6 year old daughter. She really wanted one of the battery operated jeeps, but I just couldn't see spending that kind of money and have her grow out of it. This scooter ended up being perfect for her! She is an active, outgoing, and pretty daring little girl though. She got right on and rode it great! I'm sooooo glad I didn't go with the battery jeep! She will be able to ride this for years. We have had it for about 3 months and so far its ran great and had no problems. It was also half the cost of a battery jeep! It says like 12 and over but don't be too scared to get it for younger girls. My 10 year old rides it just fine too. Just don't let them loose on the streets!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Design, June 9, 2010
By
This review is from: Razor Battery Charger for the e200, e300, PR200, Pocket Mod, Sports Mod, and Dirt Quad (Sports)
This was our third replacement for my sons scooter. Razor factory was out of the genuine charger, so we went amazon. On our second and third chargers we reinforced the connection between the wire and the plug by wrapping it in electrical tape. Prongs fall out of plug and then the charger is rendered useless. Bad design from the get go. I would pay $50 for a design that would work and last... I have already spent over $90 for replacements thus far, but we're not quite ready to throw away a decent scooter because the chargers are junk!

I purchased four of these at the same time. I have three six year olds and an eight year old. The assembly was pretty quick and easy. Most of the bike is together right out of the box but it took about 30 minutes to get the rest together.

The bikes go pretty fast to be electric. The claim to go about 14mph and I'd say thats about right. I have a golf cart and I couldn't keep up with the bikes with it. There pretty sturdy as well. I've only had the bikes for a few weeks and they've been dropped and crashed numerous times and they keep on going.

I did have one of the bikes that didn't work and Amazon was great at getting it shipped back to them and refunded (although the refund took about two weeks).

The bikes will hold even the bigger boys with little problem, but don't expect to get the same top end speed and run time as with the lighter kids. I even rode it a couple of times and I weigh 188lbs (but its not really supposed to have more than... Read more

Ohhhhh, what a disappointment we had today. My son has been saving every dollar for over a year to buy this electric offroad bike. Based on all the reviews and pictures, I was sure this was going to be a great bike for him. Well, much to my surprise, we unpacked the box and found a bike very unlike the pictures or descriptions. First, and most important, a solid frame. WHAT?! Not front or rear suspension as shown in the pics or the descriptions. Second, no front disc brake as shown in the pictures and even on the video on Razor's website. Third, the packaging was insufficient and severely damaged when we got the box. No foam supports like in the video on Razor's website, just a couple of cardboard blocks. Fourth, it doesn't work. Charged it up, turned it on, NADA! Nothing. Light turns on, wheel doesn't go. I'm very disappointed, as is my son. Clearly Razor has taken a turn for the cheap on this bike since the last review. We'll be returning this one and trying to find... Read more

Hi everyone!

At first I was a little worried about the age factor on this product. Our son that is 6 is a pretty coordinated and has been riding a 2 wheeler since he was 4 1/2 so, we decided we would give this a shot. WOW!! I am so glad that we did, he Loves it!!!

Honestly, I think a child 11 plus would be to big for this toy.

The speed of this toy is very good. Not too fast and not a putt putt.

About some of the other written review's you have read about the bad batteries.. we have had NO problems what so ever. We charge it overnight when it gets low and then he can ride it for a very very long time before needing to be charged again.

This is a GREAT product and I would recommed it to anyone with a child that enjoys this type of outdoor play!!!

Happy Mom in Missouri
